Under ARS § 36-1681, Arizona law requires a compliant pool barrier at all times — including when your fence is temporarily removed for an event or renovation. Your pool area must remain inaccessible to children during any removal period. Michael can advise on compliant temporary arrangements for your specific situation. The law applies regardless of whether your children are home.

Can you remove a pool fence that Clear Choice did not install?
Yes. We remove any brand of removable mesh pool fence in Maricopa County — All Safe Pool Fence, Pool Guard, Life Saver, Protect-A-Child, and others that use standard 1-inch sleeve anchors. If you are unsure whether your fence uses standard anchors, call us and describe it.
How long does pool fence removal take?
Most removable mesh pool fence removals take 30 minutes to 1 hour. Reinstallation takes roughly the same time. We schedule removal and reinstallation as separate visits or same-day depending on your project timeline.
Is my pool legally required to be fenced while the fence is removed?
Yes. Under Arizona law (ARS § 36-1681), your pool must remain behind a compliant barrier at all times. If your fence is temporarily removed for renovation or an event, a temporary barrier must be in place — or the pool area must be inaccessible to children. We can advise on compliant temporary arrangements. The law has no exception for short-term removals.
Do you store the fence after removal?
We do not offer long-term off-site storage, but we can remove the fence and leave it folded neatly on your property for you to store in a garage or shed. For renovation projects, we typically remove the fence, leave it with you, and return to reinstall it when the deck work is complete.
Can the sleeve anchors be reused after removal?
Yes — sleeve anchors are designed for repeated pole removal and reinstallation. The same anchors drilled at original installation will accept the poles again after temporary removal. Anchors only need replacement if they are damaged, loose, or the deck has been resurfaced over them.
