• A building permit is required before pool fencing is constructed. Chandler is not a city where you should assume fence work happens informally.

• The yard's perimeter fence has its own rules. When a home has a pool, Chandler requires the perimeter fence to be 6 to 7 feet tall in masonry or decorative metal — and wood fencing must be replaced when a pool is installed.
